Some people are comparing Dr Gundry to Dr Berg. I think both of them are wonderfully healthy for their age. In fact, Dr Gundry says he feels far healthier now than when he was forty. Dr Berg too. I think both of them have been very successful in whatever lifestyle they follow because both of them are wealthy and have access to the best quality food and water that money can buy and they even grow their own veggies, meat and eggs, while most of us get ours from the supermarket, full of adulteration and contamination. But we can all get the best that we can really afford (meaning, we can always stop spending on frivolities and use the savings on quality groceries).
When I turned sixty, I was still a TOFI (thin on the outside, fat on the inside) as I had started being since age forty. I decided to get rid of my visceral fat once and for all. I whole-heartedly embraced the idea that we don't need all that much protein and I was already predominantly vegetarian. I started doing resistance exercise and fasting. Within a matter of 2-3 weeks, I found myself unable to sit or walk without pain. So much so that I had to go and get myself a pair of orthopaedic shoes and a fat memory foam pillow to sit on. What had happened? Well, unbeknownst to myself, I had lost my lean muscle. I believe that I lost muscle from all over, not just the soles of my feet and my butt. I developed arrythmia, AFib, where the heart gets wobbly and electrical signals go haywire.
They said the body was intelligent enough not to touch muscle as long as fat was available. I had fat to spare in my abdomen. Obviously, my body is dumb. And so am I, it seems, because I am confused. Why did my body go for the muscle instead of the fat??!

So I eat 2 whole eggs and 4 egg whites every day. I am 48 and weigh 175 and very lean(able to see all my abs). I eat 180-200g of protein per day. I workout 3 days per week and have done so for over 30 years. I HAVE tried intaking only half my bodyweight in grams of protein(75g) and LOST muscle…a significant amount. I’m not saying one needs 180+ grams of protein, but I do believe we need at least 1g per 2.2lbs of bodyweight minimum, if not more. Otherwise our “needed” calories will be coming too much fat or carbohydrate sources.

Well, for years I'm eating tons of eggs each day. I even ate 18 eggs every day for 2 month and felt super good, but ended it after that and went with 9 eggs, because I didn't like the taste anymore with 18 eggs haha. Was a bit too much for me. But 9 eggs seems to be the sweetspot for me to eat every day. They are very tasty, you can cook them in different ways and they are super healthy. I feel good and since I'm on the carnivore diet, that I started 9 month ago, I feel even better!
Be careful, there is a study that possibly ties excessive egg yolk consumption with prostate cancer. Look into this, I ate 2-3 eggs a day for 1 year and (coincidentally?) was diagnosed with prostate cancer the next year. Moderation is the key.
I agree, ( by experience ), that lectines trigger arthritis pain. Dr Grundy information about this subject, was a God answer for my pain.

I eat good quality eggs almost everyday instead of unhealthy breakfast and my health improved. I used good whipping heavy cream for my coffee and my cholesterol improved and diabetes was reversed. So i dont know what to believe anymore, just find out what works better for your health.
A funny notion coming from the "king of protein". Eggs are among the best protein food. I've been eating them regularly my entire life, am in my 50s, under 15% body fat, and have no health issues.
I got to tell you I guess this guy's an intelligent guy but you know there is such a push for us all to be vegetarians now promise we have canines and so we're meant to eat meat our ancestors ate me and lived at some point I don't know who to believe I'm 62 and I used to eat a low-fat diet but I've switched to a much higher protein diet with not worrying about healthy fats and my blood work is better now than it was when I was on a low fat diet for I didn't eat a lot of animal protein so I got to say I don't hold much to what he's saying here at all.

Every person is different. My mother ate roasts, gravies, eggs and bacon and loved her sweets. She passed away at 94 from a respiratory illness. So, how many eggs can you eat each day safely? I like eggs but I am afraid of the cholesterol. Can olive oil help reduce the cholesterol level in eggs? Thanks

I have strep throat. Eggs was the only thing and yogurt that helped me. No one eating a carrot with a raw flesh in the mouth. You eat what you can on strep throat. So information he's sharing is called excess estrogen. We make the fat you fast it equalizes out but if you don't eat inflamed food like processed food you lower your estrogen and go into ketosis. This doc is basically saying its OK to eat the garbage food if you fast which is like wrong because that's how people yoyo. He's no good

I follow dr Gundry dr Berg and many others i am 80 years old and have been on the keto diet for the last 7 years i eat about 4 eggs a day mybe because my diet is a bit restricted .i have gone from 10 tablets a day to zero and lost 30 kilos am sure there is some truth about too much protean .from my personel observations just as important as what you eat is when you eat if you only have a 4 hour window of eating you can get away with eating a lot of inappropriate foods especialy if you partake in regular exercise
20-30g of protein a day is bare survival amounts – just over the amounts thst were given in labour camps and gulags – and if you were only eating plant proteins the bioavailability is so poor that you'd effectively be eating even less digestible protien. He's actively harming people (especially elderly) with this info, and disappearing down the vegan k-hole. He's even starting to look like other muscleless vegan pinheads like Greger, Furhman and McDougal. Maintaining lean body mass is absolutely crucial as you get older, and a near protienless plant diet is not going to help
How hell would you gain muscle and prevent sarcopenia on 2-30g of protein a day?
I feel pretty confident it Dr Atkins was still alive he would have been improving and improving and continuing to improve his diet and research.
Dr Adkins died because he slipped on ice on concrete steps and fell and damaged his brain and died in a hospital from the fall.
I eat four eggs everyday for 50 years. I'm never sick. I'm 70 years old I barely have any gray hair. I ride my bike 5 Mi a day. I wouldn't be a patient of yours under any circumstances period. ridiculous
