Thanks for watching! What did you think of this week's episode? Let me know in the comments below – Dr G
I just recently read The Plant Paradox. I’ve suffered from bad Migraines several times a week for 55 years. Unlike you I seem to wake up with them the better I sleep ( do you have any idea why this is)? I also get them as soon as I feel an upset stomach. I’ve been gluten free for 4 years and totally lectin free for 3 days.
Thanks Dr. Gundry, very interesting points!
QUESTION: How about canned beans, I assume these must be pressure cooked and ok to consume in moderation?
Tyramine in red wine, old cheese (Parmesan, Feta), age foods in general, chocolate give me super strong migraines.
I did found out by removing the foods and experimenting. We live in a soup of toxic chemicals.
The evils (Monsanto & Bayer) are still alive and still polluting heavily. The establishment is built for $$$ at any cost. Especially in USA.
And lots of people have an ignorant attitude.
My mom diet with Parkinson at the age of 87, all what was mentioned here applied to her. Exactly the same scenario/context (lots of pesticides and lectins).
God bless you.
I get really bad headaches some times my headaches and I have to get a shot it will be that bad wow Dr Gundry this is amazing thank u for helpin me understand
lectins
What abote mercurypoisoning? I have alot of migrenes and nothing is helping… It might be because of im detoxing that dangerous poison
do you have any interest in taking on vaccines?
ASTAXANTHIN any thought on this stuff ? I keep getting emails about how great it is .
Luckily headaches haven't been a big problem for me, but I do know adequate electrolytes and especially magnesium is important to prevent it.
1000mg of niacin (b3, regular flush version) and 600mg magnesium malate kicks migraine for me, provided I take it during aura, before nausea starts. I have to flush and flush good for it to work. I carry these with me everywhere. I even sleep in a hammock to keep my upper body higher, because some people more likely to get them from too much blood in their head for too long of the time. I didn't find, that doing that stopped them, but I like my hammock, so I continue. I never heard about lectin theory. I will look into it.
So interesting doctor. I have one question. Coffee is a bean and I noticed some discomfort if I drink so much. Is it because of lectins? Also when I drink mugicha (Japanese barely tea)
I can't have red wine, champagne, I will get migraine. A bit of white wine works. Thank you Dr. Gundry for information.
Thanks for the info Doc
I appreciate you keeping us informed. Thank you Dr. Gundry! đŸ™‚
The new March publication by Dr. Gundry is pretty short so I will copy and paste it all. I think his publications in peer reviewed journals are a enormous contribution, possibly more than the books and videos. Is the PULS Cardiac Test covered by medicare?
"Abstract 412: Dietary Lectins Cause Coronary Artery Disease via an Autoimmune Endothelial Attack Mediated by Interleukin 16

Abstract
Interleukin 16 (IL-16) is a chemoattractant released by endothelial and other cells to attract activated T cells. It has previously been shown to have expression in many autoimmune diseases (AI). Based on our previous reports using elevated adiponectin levels of 16 ug/mL to predict lectin sensitivity, and showing an association between lectins and AI causation, we have treated a large pt population with known autoimmune disease (as confirmed by markers). We recently began using the PULS Cardiac Test (GD Biosciences Lab, Irvine, CA) a validated blood test for predicting 5 year risk of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) to examine which measured biomarkers predominate in these patients.
325 consecutive pts aged 25-89 had PULS tested as part of a comprehensive blood panel, which also screens for 14 autoimmune disease markers. The PULS tests ranks 9 biomarkers, including IL-16, MCP-3, Eotaxin, CTACK, sFas, Fas Ligand, HGF for ACS risk, ranking each biomarker from lowest to highest level contributing to risk.
241 pts (74%) were positive for elevated adiponectin, hx of AI, and/or markers for AI. Of these pts, 223 (93%) were positive for IL-16 as the highest PULS risk factor. In contrast, of the other 84 pts without AI or adiponectin elevation, only 5 (6%) had IL-16 recorded as a risk.
We conclude that based on IL-16 testing via PULS, that this provides further evidence to support an autoimmune cause of coronary artery disease at the endothelial level via T cell activation and attraction in patients with gluten and lectin sensitivity or known autoimmune disease. It also explains the known high association of autoimmune disease and ACS"

Hello Dr. Gundry,
This information is very helpful. I occasionally suffer from ocular migraines. I have found that these things tend to be the factors: lack of sleep, too much sugar, caffeine withdrawal, too much computer screen time, hormones, etc. I recently discovered that I'm allergic to normal birth control pills. I had absolutely no knowledge of lectins, prior to this video. This is quite fascinating. I'm going to start my own garden, this spring, so it's very helpful for me to know what plants to avoid growing. The nightshade plants are going off of my list. I have a question about the blue light. So, it affects our eyes. Does it also affect our skin? I drink a lot of tea. I've recently realized that many brands of tea have numerous pesticides in their products (even Teavana). Usually, people drink tea to detox their bodies. How awful, though, when the intent is to do so, but one then only ends up poisoning his/her body, making the brain cleanse (that you were speaking of) even more difficult of a process. Vani (aka the food babe) is educating people on what tea brands to purchase and which ones to ditch: https://foodbabe.com/do-you-know-whats-really-in-your-tea/. I'm a bit confused about the FDA and how they factor in food labeling. There are so many companies who claim to make 'gluten-free' products, and then their products aren't gluten-free. Who's in charge of making sure that food companies are producing quality products? It seems as though if you become self-educated, you realize that there's hardly anything at a regular grocery store that is safe to eat. It's very disheartening. I'd like to support my local co-op more because they focus on quality. Even food pantries offer mostly processed foods, meat, and questionable produce (meaning, where did it come from?). I want to help support the causes that acknowledge how dysfunctional the food industry is and want to promote necessary changes. There's a movement, in Madison, WI, right now where people are buying local to support smaller businesses. The farmer's markets, in Madison, allow so many folks to have access to pesticide-free produce. There are even CSAs, which allow for people to get deals on bundles of vegetables throughout the different seasons, from farms offering this.
What are the lights he talks about that don’t emit blue light?
Can't wait for the new book already ordered !
I get migraines from cooked animal fats. Anyone else?
Good info ! Thanks doc !
