Mean BMI was lowest in vegans (23.6 kg/m2) and incrementally higher in lacto-ovo vegetarians (25.7 kg/m2), pesco-vegetarians (26.3 kg/m2), semi-vegetarians (27.3 kg/m2), and nonvegetarians (28.8 kg/m2). Prevalence of type 2 diabetes increased from 2.9% in vegans to 7.6% in nonvegetarians; the prevalence was intermediate in participants consuming lacto-ovo (3.2%), pesco (4.8%), or semi-vegetarian (6.1%) diets. So when the thinnest, healthiest longest living populations eat little to no animal products your choices are oatmeal, peanut butter on whole grain bagle, avocado, chickpeas, quinoa, bran flakes with granola, tofu bites, tempeh, nuts, etc…
There are no thin healthy long living populations eating half of their calories from animal sources. Just let that sink in..
We evolved in the African savana eating primarily fruit, nuts, seeds, plants we pulled out of the ground..
Bow and arrow only invented 50,000 years ago. Even with that see how reliable hunting is… large populations lived near reliable plant sources of food for millions of years. Aninal foods have never been reliable. On the show alive they are not inserting them in the African savana where we evolved with plenty of plant foods around…

What’s the link to the skincare company you work with?
Even more poignant is that I know of no bodybuilders that gained their size WHILE being vegan. Most acquire the size then transition later in life.
No, it’s not illegal to go to Antarctica. The restrictions are due to there being no infrastructure, protection of wildlife, etc. It’s just to protect the continent. There are foot races held there as well as cruises that go there as well.
Had anyone has the experience of training someone with reverse diet during menopause? Does it work?
Could it be the same issue as the third caller, but reversed—maybe due to too much walking and not giving my legs the proper rest?
Bring chapters back please ❤
If my protein goal is 160g, should that all be pure protein or trace protein too (from pasta, rice or oats)
Love the podcast. Has kept me motivated through my body fat loss journey and long walks!

Whats the name of the serum to fix the biome on your skin?
One thing I've always done for a snack, is add a little pineapple to some cottage cheese. The amino acids in the pineapple pairs perfectly with the protein in the cottage cheese, and allows your body to fully utilize that protein.
Sal loves this stuff. Thank you from all of us!

Is it just me or every episode all about glp 1s now? Can't even add time stamps just listening to them ramble not even about the topic
Eating pizza now
Getting my steps in and definitely changed to include protein more since I started watch Mind Pump
Great show! You guys are spot on. I love your show. I just turned 50, and really started looking at my health again, but have been in a major rut. Did my research and am doing all the things ie. hitting my protein goals, strength training and making sure I’m getting the vitamins I need. Also started micro dosing GLP1 3 weeks ago. I have a very addictive nature and years of on and off again bad behavior around food. It has helped curb all the noise. Now I can stop and look at the bad behavior before acting on it and make good choices.
Doing all the things, I have had instant success with little side effects. Fat is coming off and seem to be holding on to the muscle but I know I’m in a caloric deficit, and would like to build muscle but am definitely nervous to go the other way with the calories. Not sure where I should be caloricly to get the best results.
Theres no question animal protein is the best. Some “studies” have an agenda, and theres a political push to end animal protein.
My main protiens are eggs and sausage for breakfast, with a protien shake aswell. Lunch is usually tune or beef woth another shake, then dinner is steak and eggs.
01:23:00 No ideal BW or BF%, but the visual reflection of having visible veins, serratus muscles, veins profoundly visible in the inguinal area is good enough or me and my other half – she likes to see veins down below. Good encouragement to stay lean.
Why did you guys stop including time stamps? 🙁
You Guys do talk some Sense, but you spend too much Time talking Shit.
Today, ive got to eat 50g ( target is 120g per day) of protein to meet my protein target. As a bariatric patient with a smaller stomach who is also strength training. I always prioritise protein 1st and deliberately think in terms of protein
Remember: When you do reverse dieting, you HAVE to do strength training.
27:38 no, no fear. Just concern how many people will suffer from unrepairable health consequences. Especially because there's a way to achieve the same without those consequences.
24:34 taking part in that is not helping them. Helping them is explaining what the mechanism is and how they can achieve exactly the same & even better results without the risks associated with taking those
23:51 you get the exact same effect by just eating the muscle meat & associated fat of large ruminant animals. There's no need for medication to achieve that.
0:32 in order to be able to talk about a study, one should be able to interpret i.e. statistically analyze empirical data, otherwise one runs into the possibility of being misled…
01:24 meta-analysis can be only as good as the studies it examines…if trash in, it's trash out…which is most of the cases in human nutrition
