Just wanted to say you cannot fast all day (or for days) and then not "FEAST". Its one thing to be in a calorie deficit, but if you fast and then are scared to eat that's why your hair is falling out. Men will fast, and then eat like 12 eggs, 2lbs of beef, protein shakes, etc and that's why their hair does not fall out and they lose weight. They go to the gym, build their body up which allows them to eat more and burn more calories at rest = less stress with weight loss. As soon as a chick see's the scale go up, they stop even if their clothes are looser and they feel better. I am Carnivore because it's the only diet that has actually helped me with my period issues, skin, and weight loss. However, simply trying to convince another females they need more fat and protein and dial back the carbs, sugar and coffee is almost impossible. If I tell them to eat eggs and bacon, instead of toast and a green smoothie – I get looked at crazy. If I talk to a guy and tell them I'm eating steak, eggs, cottage cheese, and a little fish, some bacon. They be like " Bet, That makes sense, you look great." I've been fasting for years now out of pure laziness. I've lost weight, kept my muscle, hair and skin because when its time to eat, SIS I EAT!! Please do not blame something as natural as fasting, when you are not eating enough. If you think taking a whole bunch of vitamins, kale, low fat butter, dry chicken breasts, skinny tea, fruit, toast and coffee is going to give you LONG HEALTHY HAIR, you are sadly mistaken. If you look up all the vitamins found in those hair growth gummies, and then google what vitamins are in red meat…. its literally all in meat for free. Hair and nails is literally made up of protein. So its funny to me how women want to "slow aging" and they take collagen and do all this crap, when you can literally get an abundance of fast absorbing collagen/protein/vitamins from meat, bone broth, fish, butter without paying for anything extra.
Honest question: when did chiropractors become “experts” in this kind of thing? Yeah, I don’t know, either.

o wow! loving this intro so far!!! Looking forward to hear this podcast xxx
This such a load of bullocks!!! Why to mix up the extreme calorie restriction with a fasting. It’s just plain silly. I have done fasting soo long and yes I do it all the time. And I have no problem ls with my menstrual cycle, it’s regular and I sleep so good. I don’t lose any hair. Why should you lose hair if you eat enough food?? Doesn’t make sense at all!!! Women can eat less calories no matter what they do, it has nothing to do with fasting.
Excellent guest.. effortlessly exceptional!
I really hate that saying « its a privilege to age » well NOPE millions of people do this every day! If today we see that as a privilege then we need to walk up and make the world a better place!!
About to turn 40, spent 20 years mostly vegan/vegetarian. Going to a zero-carb diet healed so many health problems and my period cramps almost virtually disappeared. One of the best things I could ever have done for myself. Now looking at incorporating strength training.
Absolutely loved this video! The insights are invaluable. If you’re looking for natural wellness, check out Planet Ayurveda’s amazing herbal products such as female health support.

Please have Chalene Johnson back on too! She’s great at hormone help and working out ❤
Timestamps, anyone?
You lost me at the “crazy wife” comment. Do better!
I really think women are having an extra hard time with peri/menopause compared to our grandmothers due to the fact most of us used birth control for a long time. I had no clue that BC had negative effects on the liver and entire hormonal system. Just took it and never thought twice. As soon as I stopped BC the problems started.

Dr. Mindy Pelz!!! Bring her on your show; she changed my perimenopause life for the better. "Fast like a girl".
Been lifting heavy enough for 8-12 reps for years. I'm now 49 and have had 4 sports injuries with in 2 years! Dealing with a supraspinstus tendon tear with tendenosis!
I've been reading a lot about going heavier for 6 reps. I'm not sure about that! I'm a trainer and am now confused! I think more of a varied approach is probably better. Close to failure no matter if it's a lower rep range to lower.
Great episode!
Adam…Loved your comment towards the end about body dysmorphia, social media & female body fat percentage. Great observation & good to hear. ❤
I see weight gain with creatine so I no longer take it, between the scale going up and bloating. Why is this? I am in my menopausal phase and the weight gain worries me.
This practitioner is refreshing. I just saw a new PCP. My first visit with her was promising as she mentioned the book The Body Keeps the Score and asked me if my gut issues could be related to past traumas and/or unresolved emotions. On my second visit, she tried prescribing an anti-anxiety med for sleep and a GLP-1 for weight loss. She implied that I was overweight from overindulging in ice cream and recommended that I get a Fitbit to track my activity. She made assumptions without asking anything about my lifestyle. I have been under the care of a functional nurse practitioner for over 9 years and treated everything you can think of (hormonal imbalance, parasites, SIBO/gut dysbiosis, autoimmunity, hypothyroidism, mold, HPA Dysfunction, etc). He cannot serve as a PCP and I needed a referral for iron infusions due to anemia. I have eaten a clean, low carb high protein diet for over 5 years (paleo prior to that) and avoided sugar for nearly 10 years. I earned my masters in physical therapist and practiced for 13 years before becoming a SAHM. I have worked out since being in college, although early on I did a lot of cardio/group classes. I have been walking daily and weight training consistently for the past 4 years (using Mindpump programs since 2022).
You guys are moving in the right direction. Appreciated this. Your podcast is inclusive and informative. Cheers from everyone in our family.
