Whenever I fall and when I'm cleaning my wound, I always feel like fainting. My hands and feet cramp up and vision start tunneling. Always manage to bring myself back by just breathing deeply but trying to find a more reliable method.

I'm about to start nursing school even know I have a needle/blood phobia cause I was tired of letting it control me. I'll probably have many opportunities to use these tricks, thank you very much for sharing!

I fainted during a band camp today and fell flat on the concrete on our practice field. I had to get 4 stitches in the back of my head because I fell hard there.

Fainted for the first time yesterday, full blackout with tunnel vision and the feeling of having something lodged in your ear. I think it’s because of low blood pressure due to being sick and having a lot of blood going to my core. It’s very scary and I woke up to my parents finding me on the bathroom floor

Seems like most of these maneuvers require a valsalva. Hydration and lowering the head are definitely helpful as well.

    Soooooo here’s my story…
Like four and a half month ago i was at the Chester university college, my friends and i were playing soccer, but not in the soccer field because it was closed, one of my friends throw the ball with wayy to much force and it landed in the soccer field so we tried to get the ball back, we tried to look for the door, but it was closed, so a girl try to climb the iron fences (they were like 3 meters tall with like 10 centimeters spike at the end, everyone try to get the girl on the ground by telling her that what she was doing was stupid, but she didn’t listen.
So she climbed arriving at the end of the fence where there were spikes, i don’t remember if she made it and took the ball, but she jumped from the end of the fence and cut really badly one hand…soooo we called the medic in the college and he came with the first aid kit immediately, i was one of the oldest guys in the Italian group soo i sad to the little guys and girls to don’t look because they can faint or vomiting.
And because i never faint i looked her hand for like 2/3 minutes a little bit disgusted, but not that much, soo i continued watching, time goes on watching the bad cut she made and suddenly i feel a vomiting sensation, after it a really bad headache, my ears were buzzing like crazy, i couldn't hear anything, like in films/video games where they throw the stun grenade (same thing)
And my vision was laggy, I can’t explain this but the best comparison is when in an action film the guy gets a tranquilizer
And he or she feels a laggy vision and fall to the ground (this obviously if the filmmaker makes the “first-person” where you can see what he/she sees like you can see the eye perimeter and when it closes, btw I had nausea too.)
So I went in the bathroom because i never faint and i was assuming that i only had to vomit, i stood in the bathroom for like 2 minutes but nothing happened, at a certain point i put my back to the wall and my hand supporting my knees, at that point i faint, because i was looking really bad, like a really white color, like the new white paint on a wall, really pallid/wan.
So I hit my head against central heating, and when I was dreaming I remember I felt my head hitting the central heating and suddenly I woke up (that all thing in real life was like 0,5/1 seconds) and I was like, wtf just happened, why I’m in the bathroom sleeping, and I heard a voice saying:” è svenuto è svenuto!!!”
Which from Italian it translates:” he fainted, he fainted!!!”
And I realized everything, I looked at the door and saw it open soo I put my hand to stop it from hitting my head and like 3 of my friends were helping me get up and they put me with legs in the air and they gave me sugar, the voices spread quickly, so about 15 people came to help me, including my crush (at the time.)
And the adrenaline starts rushing my blood so I was like on drugs and even I was still feeling terrible I had the energy to fight a Lyon so I tried to get up but I fall down badly, because i was still without equilibrium but i was all good.
In the end, the girl went to the hospital and gave her points and a guy vomited.

I usually faint after shower, idk why I tried showering in cold water and tried showering for less time. but I always feel like there is no oxygen and a heavy head so I usually leave the shower and take a break or nap for minutes then go continue showering. I started leaving the door open to avoid my parents trying to open the door.

I fainted a few yrs ago in school because someone told me a horror story with blood and i hated it. It was so embarassing and i never want it to happen again. Ever since that happened i occasionally feel sick and everything when i hear a story with blood. I nearly fainted again today when we were talking about knife crime and i started feeling sick and my eyesight was getting blurry. Thank god i was only just able to prevent it.

Yeah standing suddenly is an issue. A guess is that if the physical body is not prepared for an activity it causes a drop in blood pressure.

I've had Vasil Vagal Syncope since I was a toddler. Before my parents and I found out the actual name we called it the Reverse Hulk Syndrom, only because the syncope would start to happen whenever I got too excited or upset, (or suffering from a bleeding wound) and instead of turning big and green, I would just faint. I faint way less now than I did back then. I try not to let it run my life. I learned to control it the way Dr. Greger explains and also breathing exercises really helps too. I guess I've turned out to be a really mellow person because of it. I don't get upset easily anymore, but every once in a blue moon my excitement does get the best of me. 🙂

I get problems with orthostatic hypotension when exercising a lot/overtraining. I know you focus on people who are not moving enough and may be overweight, but it would be very helpful to also see analyses of other sides of the spectrum.

So I went to a theme park yesterday, and I fainted/passed out while I was in line for a roller coaster. Everyone was staring and concerned about me, I shut the ride down. And security was everywhere. It was really bad. Wish I knew this before I did it.

I'll try to keep these in mind, though I was already aware of the water one. I have debilitating anxiety due to a fear of fainting! Ironically the panic around it causes me to feel dizzy sometimes, thus simulating the sensation of a pre-faint. I'm 24 and my once calm demeanor has been reduced to a neurotic mess. I'm wasting my 20's thanks to this ridiculous phobia! A life of house-bound routine and supplements is no way to live.
