It’s always so great jamming with you guys! You are all so knowledgeable, open minded, and ask the best questions! Thank you as always for having me on and allowing me to share my views. Already looking forward to our next convo!
I stopped buying/using oil when I realized that I could cut the fat off of meat, or fry the skin of my salmon and get the oil. Kinda like how my grandma used to fry a bunch of bacon and save the grease to make eggs and chicken with. I also buy olive oil and prefer mayo made with olive oil or avocado oil because its lower calorie. I think I just need to be more mindful on my cheat days because 100% any place we go they are using the bad, cheapy oils
The problem with high fructose, corn syrup is that it can only be metabolized in the liver and is the reason we have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in young children and people! Stay away from it it’s terrible!
Just ordered the book can’t wait to get it.. thank you guys greatest podcast ever
The recipe sound amazing! I just ordered the book. Thanks for all of your great content!
My mind just got pumped!
as a fellow seed oil disrespectoorrrr I agree
Can you do a rat lab experiment with diet vs regular coal pls? Bet your kids would find it a fun and enriching science experiment
Is MCT oil healthy? Idk ist that a triglyceride? Should I consume it or not ?
Sounds like a lot of mechanistic speculation going on here. Can you actually provide any health outcome data in humans that suggests Canola Oil or Linoleic Acid consumption increases risk of any disease process? Because (based on the evidence i've seen) it's inversely associated with disease risk.
Loved this conversation/episode
Great Value.
Sent this episode to my parents. They need to watch this.
A guy with a degree in film writes a cookbook and now he’s an expert on health? C’mon.
What oil was mentioned to surpress ghrelin?
It’s not about foods being Enjoyable or tasting good, satiating etc…. The Market exploits the factor of CONVENIENCE.
Not only did it ruin the sugar industry in Hawaii but it also affected the sugar industry in Florida a lot of people don't realize that a good portion of the Everglades is sugarcane fields around Lake Okeechobee
I have an addictive personality. When I was younger, I was absolutely addicted to food – happy? Celebrate with food. Upset? Console with food. Bored? Eat! As I started to become try losing weight, this morphed a bit. The soda addiction became a diet soda addiction. Food addiction became being addicted to working out. It's a constant struggle that I have largely been able to stay on top of by being mindful of my actions…basically by being addicted to tracking my intake and activity haha!
Nah you can burn 800kcal in an hour, doesn't take 2.5 hours!
Fantastic informative conversation… especially on egg yolks and digestion
How was coconut oil not mentioned once?
Is peanut oil on the "bad" list?
Ok, companies really be selling smoke point though like its a nutritional. carcinogenic thing we have to worry about. Dang, they are sneaky.
I'm glad my gut instinct about Listerine tasting like freaking floor cleaner and never using that kind has a scientific, health background lol.
Olive oil ice cream …. Yes! I did this on culinary school and ppl were like what? Olive oil? And say yes!! Amazing
Amazing discussion and information. I love Max…. Amazing how he explains it all.
I'm glad I listen to max so much because some of it needs repeating and I'm glad I catch it the 2nd or 3rd time. He's just a super human, really. So, not to make myself enemy #1 but I f*cking HATE when women are pregnant and thinks that gives them the license to eat like sh*t 24/7. Like b*the NO! You are literally GROWING A TINY HUMAN !!! If anything this is when women should be super careful and intentional about what they eat, not disregarding all good habits they had prior to conception!!
Great info, just pre-ordered my Genius Kitchen book.
I’ve been listening to your show for a little while now and I’ve taken in a lot of information and it’s been very helpful in helping me with muscle building and while training myself and others
This episode could've been 100x better if Sal gave Max more opportunity to talk rather than interrupting him and going off topic so many times. I literally quit the episode halfway because I was listening to Sal repeating all his knowledge that I've heard numerous times on the show. If you want to interview someone with that much knowledge, just be humble enough to shut up and listen to what they say. This interruption and going on long talks isn't good interviewing and it just shuts off your long-term listeners.
There is nothing like home cooking.
You get so used to the food you grow up with. I can not find a Mexican food restaurant I can say I like. I have so use to made from scratch Mexican food. I dislike going out to eat Mexican food.
Hello guys, which routine is better in terms of fat burning, a Split routine or a strength routine?
for the chicken and liver diet. Are you just eating eggs and chicken liver?
Max is my favorite of all your guests. I always learn something (and I'm a huge nutrition nerd). The smoke point discussion was very educational. Thanks for providing such consistent quality content.
Great information. I was about to purchase an anabolic cook book from a YouTube body builder but it uses a lot of processed foods, artificial sweeteners, and protein powder. And was costing over 100 dollars.
After watching this episode I’m definitely picking up genius kitchen. Mind pump literally opened my mind to be the best me I can for my family and myself.
Nothing but the best information. Cannot say how much I have learned from you guys and how it has helped me grow!
Ok so here goes my story as consolidated as possible. I also know this isn't really related to this video but I wanted to comment on your most recent vid. I have been overweight most of my life. In my 20's, I got to my lowest weight, which was 225. Being 6'2 and naturally a big guy, I was happy with this weight since I was slim, fit and had tons of strength. At 30, I got into a boating accident that herniated 4 of my discs and required 38 stiches between both feet to kind of put my toes back on. I was on bedrest for an entire year. During that time, I backtracked all that work I had done in my 20's. I not only lost my motivation to go to the gym, I was also in too much pain to work out. Even walking is painful. Fast forward to now, 38. I decided this year something has to change. I am tired of being in pain, and even standing or walking hurting. I have been stretching and walking this year. 2 weeks ago I got my gym membership and I have been in there 5-6 times a week, just getting my body use to it. I have been doing light, high rep low weight full body workouts and alternating days of light cardio, mainly elliptical and bike, since its low impact. I feel so much better already. I have not weighed myself until today, and after losing weight this year already, I am now at 459 🙁 I am very embarrassed to type this. But I know without acknowledgement, their can be no change. I found this channel today, and I am so happy I did. I will be consuming all your content over the next weeks to catch up on all your videos. I have already watched some of your protein vids and I realize I need to increase my protein drastically. I also would like to know which program you would recommend for me to start. I have already decided that I wont even have that ripped, cut physique. I will have a more strong man body, which I am fine with. In fact, I just want to be healthy and strong again. Any pointers would be great. I would love to start with the strongman program if you guys think that would be good. I would love to share my journey with you guys, as it will be a long one. But I am looking to make this change for life, and I believe your channel will help me along the way. Thanks for the content, and all your experience and expertise, it really motivates anyone who wants to take working out seriously.
Wait Sal, where is your family from again??
Just messing. Great episode. Love the content guys!
Is it true that the nutrients in oils are diminished heavily when exposed to light? Forgot where I heard this but it was pretty alarming. If it’s true they say to try & get oils out of dark glass bottles that’s limit the amount of light that gets un
I am so glad you did this episode! I have been trying to cook healthier for me and my family. I was so afraid to cook with olive oil for the longest because I heared it changes and its not good for you after that. I'm glad to hear its more stable than I thought. I have been playing around with different oils for our food to see how it makes us feel. I changed my deep frier oil to peanut oil and it don't make us feel as gross. Thank you guys!
And definitely going to get his book!
Great! Thank you :O)
This is wonderful. Dr Ray Peat has been talking about the dangers of pufas for decades.
