My physical therapist had me do isolation on my left leg adductors, glute max, and glute med prior to compounds d/t muscles not firing in an efficient order causing compensation and imbalances on that side. I no longer need to do them but it worked so well with mind/ muscle connection that i continue to do them bilaterally now.

I have naturally strong legs and usually can do whole stack leg extensions easily. While I got up to 405 for squats for 10 reps my legs would never have been as fabulous without extensions. No one ever believed me when I said that while heavy squats are mandatory, extensions built my quads way more. I WO nowadays at home with the X3 bar and so without extensions my quads are weak and pathetic even though I do max ORANGE band for 30 reps in squats.
