A brand of nutritional supplements that I have used for years is Nature’s Sunshine Products. I have visited their production facility twice some years ago. Production was run by a man who had a career with Bristol Myers Squibb before he came there. They had a couple of former pharmacy school professors on staff who I knew personally well. Additionally they had three PhD’s on staff t run their HPLC testing. They did testing for heavy metals and a number of cogent issues as well. They were among the 15% of manufacturers who had their own lab. I remember times when they would stop a production of a product if it did not meet specification. I do not sell their products, btw. So my words come from my experience without a hidden motive. I have learned to trust their product labels. According to the disclosures from this publicly traded company, the cost of products directly runs about 18% of the sales cost. Compared to big pharma, that is really high. Their prices to the consumer are not the cheapest, but they have delivered on having what is on the label in the bottle.

Ginger makes my periods reeeaallly heavy. Dilated the blood vessels.. good for pain but NOT period pain for this reason

Checked your site for info on DHEA supplemention and didn't find anything. So…..

Technically, legumes includes lentils, peas, etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legume
For sources of protein, beans, peas and lentils are in the protein group so not sure why Dr Greger seems to have some kind of discrimination against peas which are part of the legume group.

Dr. Gregor, I have neurocardiogenic syncope. When I am at higher altitudes I feel horrible since I have low blood pressure. I constantly feel dizzy and nauseous. Is there anything I can do besides drinking lots of water and increasing my salt intake? Thank you so much for any help!

Can I ask a question here : Hi Dr. Greger, you said it took 25 years and 7,000 studies before the US Surgeon General issued the 1st report against tobacco. How many studies do we have in favor of the plant-based diet or that say that it is the optimal diet for humans ?
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE screen the questions BEFORE you answer them. In other words don't do this show live. The reason is that the questions are often redundant, repeats from past shows or not very useful or interesting. The show would be MUCH better if you reviewed the questions before and only answered the best ones. Thanks

Generally, a good way to increase saliva is to close your mouth and start breathing through your nose. I forgot the mechanism behind it, bt it works! So much so, that when I am running with my mouth closed, breathing through my nose, it generate that much saliva that I occasionally almost choke on it.

A poor diet can set you up for panic attacks. I’m on a WFPB diet now and supplant with 5HTP and Pure L Serine prescribed by my Functional Medicine Doctor.
I panic attacks are gone.

I'm wondering if not eating spinach, affects memory slightly, as in eating green leafies with no oxalates…?
Exercise helped me tremendously with panic attacks. Also quitting coffee and alcohol.
