Absolutely correct I have been trying to find this journal
A few days ago my blood test said my a1c was 6.2 but my blood sugar was 77.4
Hi there, Doc. Just came across your video in my quest to find out more about my recent diagnosis of prediabetes. Lab results say my HBA1c is 44mmol/mol, and it should be below 42 to be classed as normal. 47-48 and above are classed as diabetic here in the UK. My FBC (CBC as it's called in the US) shows no abnormality. My RBC parameters are all within normal range. Fact is, the only thing 'abnormal' is my HBA1c. No problem with kidneys, or liver, or bones. No inflammatory markers. Am I truly prediabetic? I don't have hypertension, I don't have hyperlipidemia or cholesterol problems, my CV risk (QRISK2 score of under 3%) is low, and my BMI is good – never been overweight. No nutrient deficiencies. Non-smoker, no alcohol intake at all. It was a surprise to get this result from my recent blood test. I'm just curious.
No disrespect but people that watch these videos watch it for the quality rather than entertainment so we can cut the jokes and sillyness so we can go faster through the video and info. You'll lose watchers if you keep packing silliness.
Thanks for the info

I got 7.5 3 months after diagnosed in February been maintaining it ever since checked today after 3 months got 7.7 idk what to I have tried everything but I guess I’m slipping need to be more disciplined.
I really don't know how anyone can take you seriously with this video……….
Sir when it is advisable to take hba1c test after the delivery for a type one diabetic?
Hi DR., Thank you for your very informative video.
Could you please explain my situation which is my GP could not.
My blood test on annual physical exam showed everything is normal, no anemia, FBS 88, but A1C 5.7. I got DX with prediabetes. My GP told me due to aging, need diet exercise and retest A1c in 4-6 mos. She seemed not to worry too much.
I am 57 post menopausal . My blood sugar10 years ago was 79, then every year or every 2 years, it gradually increases until 2020 : 91, 2022 : 94, 2023 :91 but my GP always said they are OK. But I am kind of worried and requested A1C test this year. But this year my FBS is down to 88 and A1C is abnormal in prediabetes range.
Besides, I am not overweight 5'3 and 110 lbs, no HTN, No high cholesterol.
I a medical worker working on my feet all day but do not have time to exercise . In the past 5 years I like to drink Thai tea boba from 7 Leaves almost everyday, otherwise I think I eat pretty heathy.
Since I got my DX with prediabetes ( my doctor said due to aging ) I 've started searched up information about it and change my lifestyle, completely stop Thai tea, no more coffee ( they said caffein can raise blood sugar), start eating low carb, minimal sugar in cooking , change to brown rice, I eat rice I am Asian.
Can you please let me know why my FBS and A1C conflict ?
Thank you so much doctor!!!
I do not eat many carbs, so why is my HbA1c on the increase? My blood sugars are always normal
I am a type 1 diabetic for 40 years. I am 71. My A1C has consistently been 5.8 since I started using the Tandem Tslim using control in and Dexcom. My hgb and hct are very good.
My Endo told me it’s too low that I could suffer cardiac arrest at my age. Wondering who I should believe?
Sir my hba1c is 8.0 and my fasting evry time 90;93;99;97;100
my fasting sugar 86 and random sugar is 105 and hba1c is 5.6
You are telling the truth, till quite some time my MG/DL is 120+ while here it is showing 5.7.9 on HBA1C
Can opiates cause a falsely high A1C test? Especially if I took it right before the test
How do I get a phone call with you? I recently got a 102 and 5.7 on my recent test. But I have no genetic connection to diabetes, I’m in good shape – work out 6 days a week and I just ran the LA marathon. I eat super clean. I eat fruit and ice cream twice a week (not rm) but all things considered it just doesn’t seem right.
Gee whiz. Could you slow down please?
So much your dr. Don't know. Too much info out there to keep up with
I wish my doctor would understand this, but she doesn't accept it. When I mentioned the anemia potentially being the cause of the elevated a1c she said "it doesn't work like that", and continued with her condescending attitude. Frustrating!
1 have been a type 1 diabetic for 40 years and my A1C has been in the non diabetic range for the past 38 years! I test my blood sugar 8-10x a day and I have both normal and high and low blood sugars but here is why my A1C is great! When I have a high blood sugar it’s usually only high for a hour or two! And when a doctor tells me that I must have low blood sugars in order to have the A1C’s that I have I simply deny their accusations because of a few reasons! 1) if they are asking me or accusing me of low blood sugars they should already know the answer? There is no way on the planet that anyone with a non diabetic A1C who has been a type 1 diabetic for 38 years can possibly never have a low blood sugar! My sugar is so in control that it’s bound to happen and it absolutely does! But I have to deny it when they ask me because if I admit it they are obligated to notify the state that I live in and the state will subsequently notify me that my drivers license will be suspended for a year for medical reasons! So I would have to be hypoglycemic seizure free for one year before they would reinstate my drivers license!
I will be anaemic at this rate I am bloody exhausted headache I have HB1ac test ,full blood count ,LH,FSH ?Prolactin ,3/4 thyroid tests Testosterone (I am female )Cortisol that’s gone up ..Upon opening all these tests I have a brain injury and my hormones balance etc all gone crazy
Doc, could you please speak slower. It’s like running a marathon.
WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?
Thank for explaining this. I was so confused when my a1c is 8% and my FBS is 94. I do have anemia from my CBC.
Where is ur office? R u accepting new patients?
my eAG was 132.23 mg/DL at 6.23% few months ago today it is 119.76 mg/DL at 5.8% my question is the eAG three months fasting average glucose or three months average post prandial blood glucose plz let me know
I have a question my A1C is been going low but idk if that’s a good thing or bad thing I wake up to 59 or something in the 45-67 and the high is 74 or 82 when it goes up to the 125 it feels like am gonna fall down I do have type 2 diabetes
I would find you more credit without the corn.
Thaks Doc. You are unic. Thanks!
A1C is the most important test?
What about an HOMA-IR score?
Omg ur video made me cry cuz for the last few days I couldn't figure out why my A1C went from 6.0 (march) to 6.2(june) even though I gave up sugar completely n am very low carb/keto diet since March. I was devastated to see my blood work yesterday. But your video makes sense…my hemoglobin is 9.2, hematocrit is 32 n am very anemic according to my doc. Sigh such a relief…thank you
Also not accurate after blood transfusion to correct severe anemia as it's measuring other people's blood
Get a cgm and fasting insulin
Test. The a1C is probably correct
How much hba1c is bad?
Doc, what is the normal hbA1c?
I know what you meant to say but your wording was awkward regarding Sickle Cell with African-American. What if a person listening to this video is living in France but grandparents are from Congo. They may not think that it refers to them because they are not African American, no ties there. But how you talked about the Mediterranean disorder, you worded it correctly as being of Mediterranean background and not Mediterranean-American, it means something different. Thank you though for your video on A1C.
My a1c is 5.8 (3 months after blood donation). Just last year my a1c is good. I don't know maybe the blood donation affects the results. But after every donation I tend to eat more. I donate every 3 months.
I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes 3 months ago. My A1C was 5.7%. My Lipid Panel results were high also. (Cholestral >227, HDL>3.3, NonHDL>159, HDL>68, LDL>135 & Triglyceride>137). I was given Amlodipine (5mg) for cholesteral. Ive been taking Valsartan160 for the last 3 years. The last 3 months I went on a diet and exercise. No sugar & no carb. Lots of fruit, vegetables(greens), yogurt, fibers, etc. My weight went from 215+lbs to today at 190lbs. I went in for a Lipid panel test & Hemoglobin test yesterday and my results came back today. Cholesterol>148, HDL>1.9, NonHDL>72, HDL>76, LDL>58 & Triglyceride>68. All good numbers I believe. But my HGBA1C was 5.8%. It went up .1%. Why is that? Because I fasted 12 hours before my lab test? Are the test results correct? I continued to take Amlodipine while on my diet & exercise.
My dad went from 5.2 to 5.4 in a years time with basically no change in diet. Should he be worried?
Once I realized my sugars were going high, I changed my diet and stopped eating sugar except for 1-2 grams occasionally in bread/condiments and maybe once a month having a food with more sugar. Also have limited carbs, lazy keto style. As a result, my blood sugar is usually within normal range and only occasionally is too high.
I haven't been diagnosed with diabetes (pre-diabetes years ago) and both Type 1 & Type 2 run in my family. My dr wants to do A1C for diagnosis, and I'm wondering if it would be accurate since I changed my diet already?
Thank you, doctor. You've saved me from headache…
Great video I learn so much fro you dr. I’m pre-diabetes.
A1C misses 73% of diabetics! Also, diabetics' RBCs die 20 days earlier. But it's not even about sugar levels, YouTube search Kraft insulin test by Dr Jamnadas if you want real science and certainty.
