Don't know if this helps, but 2/3 of all the vitamins including vitamin c are in the peel of the fruit, personally I've been depressed for years, and one day I just decided to brew myself some lemon peel tea with some lemons that I used for other food. Within the day I felt different. YEARS OF DEPRESSION, gone. Just by making lemon peel tea, and drinking himolayen salted water for hydration. Hope this helps
Dr. Levy loves Vitamin C at even 12 + grams ( 12,000 mg) per day if the bowels can take it. He claims that it is very powerful at even higher doses but doctors don't want to admit to the healing effects of this amazing Vitamin. Check out his YouTubes and Podcasts on social media.

Don't let these people stop you trying large oral doses. Many people get great results from large multiple gram doses. Research Linus Paulings work. You will learn more from the comments here than the lecture.

Interesting discussion. Fifty-four minutes in, I've noticed this myself when taking vitamin C. I can't exercise as well, as my muscles lose energy and strength. It could just be me due to my body chemistry.

I was studying Dr. Rath using high Doses of C for atherosclerosis which I have and got a stent put in a 90% clogged artery in 2013. Now, I recently searched google for more info and an NIH study came up I had not seen before from 1995! High dose C- 30mg- 1gm daily over 18 months was shown to thicken the carotid artery walls and it was designated as Atherosclerosis!!! I can't find any other info on this. One could think there should be a warning on labels for C Supplements.
I was using 2-3gm per day on Dr. Raths advice for 3 yrs thinking I was healing from Atherosclerosis. I am still taking 225mg of a full spectrum berry capsule daily. Fuck it! I give up. I'm 78.

The best way to convince those who has been fooled to belive in "natural vitamin C" is the following.
Most animals has an enzyme chain which produces ascorbic acid. In humans, one of those enzymes are non-functioning. So we can't produce any acorbic acid. We hust therefore get it from our diet. Thus, it's a vitamin for humans, but not for most animals.
Then one might talk about its function as an antioxidant. And that it actually doesn't need anything else to do that job.
I have read numerous times in various places that Linus Pauling himself took about 18 grams of C per day. As the esteemed Andrew Saul is found of saying Linus Pauling as two more Nobel Prizes than this kid. Additionally it is well understood that the sicker you are you can take substantially larger doses of C even orally than if not. I have tested that theory several times. Often taking 16 grams of C plus simultaneously another 10 grams of Lipo C without any quick trips to the BR. Cancer patients can take even more.

Vitamin C — Vitamin C is commonly found in citric fruits and many types of vegetables. Vitamin C may have a minor role in preventing the common cold, specifically for persons involved in high-intensity physical activity in extreme cold climates.
Evidence does not support the use of vitamin C supplementation for chronic disease prevention. In particular, vitamin C supplementation does not appear to be beneficial for the primary or secondary prevention of cancer or coronary heart disease.
Cancer — Large randomized trials have found no reduction in cancer in patients given vitamin C supplementation [67]:
●The Physicians' Health Study II randomly assigned 14,641 male physicians ages 50 and older to vitamin C 500 mg daily or placebo [68]. After an average follow-up of 8.0 years, vitamin C had no effect on the incidence of cancer (hazard ratio [HR] 1.01, 95% CI 0.92-1.10). During an additional three years of post-trial follow-up, there was no difference in risk of total cancer or incident prostate cancer among the two groups [69].
●An analysis of 7627 women who were free of cancer at random assignment in the Women's Antioxidant Cardiovascular Study found that after a mean follow-up of 9.4 years, vitamin C 500 mg daily had no effect on the incidence of cancer (relative risk [RR] 1.11, 95% CI 0.95-1.30) [53].
Cardiovascular disease — Randomized trials have shown no benefit of vitamin C for primary or secondary prevention of coronary heart disease. This is discussed in detail elsewhere.
The Health Professionals Follow-up Study, an observational study including 43,738 men, showed no association between supplemental vitamin C (700 mg or more daily) and stroke risk.
Kidney stones — Vitamin C increases urinary oxalate excretion and may increase the risk of kidney stones. In the highest-quality study examining this, a cohort study of 23,355 men who had not already had kidney stones and were followed up for 12 years, men taking vitamin C but not other supplements were twice as likely to develop stones as men taking no vitamin supplements.
