Thank you for caring and informing us
why do you talk like that its insanely irritating
Thank you for this info. Our country needs to start caring about its people… which unfortunately will never happen.
please examine wooden and bamboo spoons/bowls because they often also contain glues with formaldehyde
Hi Dr Green! In passing I really enjoyed your book ' Hiw not to Die" my ? Is what if it is mix with material, I was looking for cotton socks that had 68% cotton, 30% POLYAMIDE n 2% Elastane? Probably not good idea since its not good with utensils or dishes right?
I only use wood utensils
Spoons and forks also solid food can easily scrape minute amounts into your food even at low temperatures
I've always ate off of plastic plates in my youth putting them in microwave and such and being a kid would chew on some of the melted bits. Maybe injesting some if I'm unluckily.
I took a culinary class in high-school and learned the scary fact about the fumes I was so happily huffing. I tend to avoid them now as much as I can despite being made fun of for it. But sometimes I do cook with a plastic fork I quickly dip in and out.
Damn, glad I saw this first. Had a set of melamine dishes on my amazon wishlist
Well-said!
Alright Dr. Greger I'm throwing out my melamine and polyamide utensils today!
Make sure the wooden utensil is not coated with epoxy and nor coated with any treatment to help it look more glossy or the dishwasher safe
Oh no. Bakers use that black one..
So let's all use the Magic Eraser to clean! Wtf is wrong with this world?
Yes very clear wooden and stainless steel is safe both plastic and foil is dangerous
How do you know if your dish is made of Melamine?
Plastic spatula causes problems metal one scratches the pan causing problems can’t win!
I have reviewed Dr Michael Greger book let me know your thoughts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIMrhf2i4zg
damn— i value the content– but watching this man is extremely difficult!
I would love to watch your videos, but they you talk drives me insane. Like what the heck are you doing speeding up and slowing down 50 times in a single sentence?
Yo doc, you look tired. Take some more time for yourself. Appreciate you work
wow
I've been a struggling vegan for a couple of years now. Until earlier this year where I've completely weaned off animals and animal byproducts. I've been following your YT channel. You are a major factor on helping me become a more plant based, whole foods lifestyle person. I am curious. I bought sets of microwave safe containers and plastic/silicone cooking utensils. On your video from last week about melamine and polyamide plastic; are they safe to microwave foods with and regarding the utensils, are they safe to cook with on my non-stick pans? Are all plastic-based dishes and utensils unsafe and should I get rid of them? Thank you, Dr. Greger.
I was planning to buy new kitchenware, so thanks for this series. I hope the next material is silicone.
What about polypropylene?
i dont no what the materials are but naturally i think its all prettty dodgey, i dont think cooking food is very healthy
I guess we should also avoid plastic coffee makers since they're exposed to high temperatures
Just go with wood and be done with it.
..what kinds of glue –assuming "food safe" are used?
Have curious concern using bamboo utensils with cooking(heat) since most bamboo which are layered use GLUE . Is the glue safe?
Or simply use low heat to cook. Deep frying, baking or roasting with these utensils are definitely harmful
Thank you Dr. Greger! These days I just figure any of the new–within the last 50 years–chemically made utensils and cookware aren't safe, including silicone! Simple is better.

It is sad, that with this video (maybe others as well) a big advantage of nutritionfacts.org has gone. Where are original videos with *no speaker visible on a video*. Is it all pushed by brand marketing? In fact, what is the showing a speaker for, besides distraction? Value added is knowledge. Naturally, I am not talking about Q&A videos.
I'll just eat straight out of the ground with my mouth like an animal. Nothing is safe anymore.
