What I'm not understanding here is that while Dr Greger is talking about lentils he shows a picture of red lentils, which I thought were the insides, after the coating has been removed. Can anyone explain this to me?
Thanks
I've eaten a pan of boiled lentils 3-4 times a week for the past 5 years. I love them! I've probably only had less than 5 stomach aches in that time period because I presume that my gut biome is so excellent from eating lentils.
for christmas — please read normally
I wish that they would have included green peas in this study seeing as eat them everyday but I suspect strongly that the be at the bottom of this list

Glad to hear this because I am eating chick peas almost every day at present with a salad. I also eat a lot of lentils because easy to cook.

Cooked with onions – excellent tear gas
Lentils are also easy to cook and easier to digest. win-win. But chickpeas are excellent too.
I've just made and eaten a spicy dhal curry with chickpeas and coconut milk. Soooo good!
I had yellow split peas (dhal) at the Indian restaurant this evening amazingly good and tasty
I’m obsessed with chickpeas and lentils these days, thanks in large part to Dr. Greger! I keep fresh homemade hummus always on hand for a quick snack, and I usually have some lentil soup or Indian dal in there as well.
I wonder if black and brown chickpeas (I.e. kala chana) have even higher antioxidant power than standard chickpeas? Not that those ordinary chickpeas aren’t good enough! (See, this is what happens when you go on a Greger binge: you begin to fixate on getting more, more, more nutritious foods so you will never die MUAHAHAHAAAA! :))
Do soybeans stay in the cupboard for this round??
Which lentils did they test I wonder ?
Back in africa My home country We always eat lentil and mashella, teff, sorghum and less meat only on religious celebrations mostly one time a year.

Where would soybeans (edamame) rank?
This is good news. I love lentils❤
I want to start feeding my body on these
Does anyone know if pasta alternatives, like those based on lentil, chickpea flour etc, count towards your 3 servings of beans per day? I'm thinking specifically in the context of the Daily Dozen. The whole bean is best but do the bean flours count?
Lentils where a huge staple of gladiators diets. Cheap and quick.
I use brown, black and red lentils for growing sprouts and cooking dal.

Loved this. The Indian restaurant down the road will soon have a new best customer. Stay healthy ♡
