people ate less back then and vegetable oils add to weight but so does eating more
Remarkably good! Especially the mitochondria passage .. really foundational!
It is weird because here in France we have the opposite approach. We eat everything and honestly, there is obesity among the poorest but in Paris everyone is slim. We walk a lot.
what? Olive oil is consumed for thousands years.
I just don't understand why your hair turned white in such a short period of time
I would say you were attacked because the powers that be don't like what you are saying
those seed oils will getcha
wow
The people running g the world behind the scenes want world population at 500 million. It was written on the Georgia Guidestones. This is how they get to that number
blue zones mostly plant based with beans being the strongest correlation to good health and longevity
Thank you for covering seed oils skyrocketing heart disease.
Processed food but especially injections of both livestock and humans is the biggest culprit. Rancid vegetable oils are bad too but that doesn't mean you should go and drink butter coffee like the delusional keto advocates do. Use some common sense people.
Great Presentation as always! On my channel, you can find out how to avoid seed oils in everyday life 🙂
9:35 Palm oil is a complete trash and poison, and you say it is better then for exaple virgin olive oil because has more saturated fats and same LA? Palm oil is at least 5 times worse then olive oil. Also on that diagram safflower oil linoleic acid content is 14% which is very untrue – it is 70%
Omega 3 – Omega 6
1 – 1 -> absolute minimum to get healthier
4 – 1 -> recommended
Wow. Was my comment removed because I made a reference to a company that is supporting ancestral diet?
The introduction of Chlorine into the drinking supply was also a major factor in the development of coronary heart disease. This was noticed on autopsies done on deceased 20 year old American GIs in the Korean and Vietnam wars. These had advanced coronorary disease – probably attributed to the extremely high levels of chlorine put into their drinking water to counter the contaminated water supply Apparently, the water was virtually undrinkable.
I dont know if i would contribute a rise in cancer deaths due to omega 6. All the industrial pollutants especially synthetic and nuclear testing arrive the same time the deaths jump. The whole planet is covered PFAS, in C8 from Teflon production, modern cleaners are not removed at the water treatment plants that use biological methods and PH to clear the water, the planet has seen over 2000 nuclear weapons test, they dumped thousands of barrels of toxic and nuclear waste and DDT direction into the ocean, I'm tired of writing so Ill stop now.
Lard is best
This is not only criminal but intentional crimes against humanity. These mega-industrial organizations deserve the death penalty !!!
Cigarettes were labeled as toxic even though they are long term acting and not acute poisons. Omega-6 PUFA has a "roof" from the criminal promotion of this garbage as "heart healthy" because of the ridiculous cholesterol fixation as the cause of heart disease. Heart disease cannot be prevented by sequestering LDL into cell membranes (which is what PUFA consumption promotes). It requires addressing the actual problem which involves glycation of LDL and the ensuing oxidation. Even mildly oxidized LDL is active in plaque formation. There are many more factors in plaque formation including arterial wall damage and low grade inflammation which chronically elevated insulin induces. Industrial seed oils laden with omega-6 are not any sort of silver bullet fix. Neither are statins.
I've got an uncle who would probably still be alive today if this video had been available 20 years ago when his wife put him on a vegetarian diet. The last few years after his heart attack, it has been tough to see him decline into a papery, wizened-looking shadow of his former self. The tragic part is that his wife genuinely thinks she was helping him, and will likely never change her mind regardless of any evidence presented to her.
So the question becomes: After changing over to animal-based fats, and removing all veggie oils as stringently as possible; with at least 30+ pounds of high omega 6 adipose fat on your body: how long will it take to get rid of most of this dangerous fat???? That is the big question for those of us already having serious metabolic problems.
Avocado OIl isn't listed on the chart, is it bad as well?
Don't ever forget that the American heart association is brought to you by Crisco and funded by pharaceutical companies.
Does burning fat on a keto diet release this toxin from the adipose? If so, does it flush out or reabsorb? I cured my Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia mitochondrial dysfunction in six weeks of keto (no seed oils). Maybe I should say I erased the symptoms. I burned a good bit of fat. It didn’t seem detrimental.
8:30 – what we should be eating.
Suppose one is born in our current millennium:
>> is regularly exposed, right from the beginning of their life (potentially parents' lives too) to oxidised polyunsaturates;
>> then proceeds to accumulate these fats in their tissue;
>> as they get increasingly sickened at a more and more alarming rate, become aware of the issues;
>> decide to change their way to regain health.
>> They enter a fat-adapted state after multiple months of radically shifted eating patterns.
>> As their body fat stores are used up, they have to be processed by the mitochondria;
>> Are the mitochondria overwhelmed?
>> Otherwise, does the body resist / are there mechanisms to prevent stores from being lost too rapidly;
>> which would create a particularly long period of restricted energy metabolism (sounds like could be 6 years?)
>> can a 'fat hunger' arise in such scenario (that's addressed – with consumption of saturate-rich intake);
>> such that persistent fat stores remain stable (body refrains from accessing them)
>> while ongoing dietary intake is relied primarily upon for energy metabolism?
I'm sympathetic to reexamining modern diets, but his chart at around 32:00 is blatant chart crime, not a "remarkable correlation." Good grief.
Explains how a relatively benign virus killed millions
When foods are grown in ways that require more interventions over time to fight pests and disease those who depend on them also require more intervention overtime to fight pests and disease because 2+2=4 🙂 autoimmune diseases, cancer, obesity and so much more are all results of the same thing (dysbiosis in soils and guts) and putting more of our energy to fighting these things is not progress or beneficial, you cannot beat nature only work with it so such problems do not happen in the first place. Go and look at elaine ingham, christine jones, erica sonnenburg (all have PHD's, this is not quackery or pseudoscience)and lectures on microbiomes and microbiotas if these things interest you. Kill off the bottom of the food chain (microbes in the soils that cycle nutrients and prevent pests and diseases and are responsible for the regulation of genes) and you will kill of what is above it and stop them functioning properly as they slowly die out and each generation will have increasing health implications and a worse quality of life. Take responsibility for your own health and that of your children for without responsibility there is no freedom. Nature does not see weeds, pests and diseases as problems, but solutions to the real problems to take out the trash that is breaking the nutrient cycling. Most people also consume far too much omega 6 and far too little omega 3 in their diet and guess what produces omega 3 for the food chain? That's right, microbes in the soils. meats grown properly contain far more3's and far less 6, vegetable oils and seed oils are absolutely loaded with omega 6 leading to inflammation and for T-cells to be primed for cytokine storms.
Dr. Knobbe has done more to advance my understanding of nutrition, and of preventing chronic disease therewith, than anyone else. I went LCHF/IF in mid 2019 and got great results on weight, energy level and biomarkers, but after a drop in income, I tried to save $$ by eating a lot of cheap fatty pork and chicken, whose high linoleic acid content probably bioaccumulated over the following year. Weight maintenance started to crumble and ultimately I regained most of the 30# I had lost off my 2018 peak, despite still mostly sticking to a narrow eating window and a decent food selection. Now that I've been strongly avoiding PUFA for almost a year and emphasizing SFA, I'm starting to see the needle move back in the right direction. The key was recognizing that the omega-6 is hidden in so many foods, and even in the fat of monogastric animals fed corn and soy. No mas.
13:38 everyone in the fkn world needs to hear this
Fortunately, a healthy percentage of top executives in these criminal corporations consume the same toxic slop.
It makes complete sense however I can tell you that when I started with a keto diet 12 years ago I wasn't aware of the seed oil controversy. I at lots of omega 6 fats. Oils and from chicken, pork and beef. I did this for years. I lost 45 pounds, blood sugars completely normalized and organ fat ( confirmed by ultra sound and CT) was gone. So I am skeptical about the weight gain, insulin resistance aspect. My health improved greatly but I continued to eat high omega 6.
Medical cannabis and a good diet are a medical necessity for all those of us who have been innocently and ignorantly consuming such hard to avoid mitochondrially poisonous polyunsaturated Vegetable oils in our diets and got one or more of many modern metabolically caused diseases and CANCERS that they cause. These all barely existed before about 1900 when industrially manufactured foods started becoming available. You need to exclude all manufactured snacks, takeaways, restaurant fried and manufactured foods and that's the only hard and fast rule. The ideal solution for ultimate healthy longevity is to go fully VEGAN and take cannabis supplementation to boost your also damaged endocannabinoid system until you are better (maybe 2 years or so) while getting all vegetable seed extract, industrially refined cooking oils out of your diet. Please use Vegan rather than Keto, low carb or Paleo. All else is OK. Cheers, Dr David
Is the correct lard Omega 6 the version on slide 20, or the edited chart on slide 21?
Seed oils are killing us. Lenoleic acid is WORSE than.sugar. Ruminant anomals removes it. Pork and chicken are full of it now. They feed pigs seed oils now!
Stop eating fried foods, processed crap and plants.
Eat beef mostly. Carnivore will save your life.
32:15 the graph would be more indicative of what is going on with the average American if left side was Heart Disease/1.000.000 instead of the raw number because of the population development (and it would be easier to see just how strong the correlation is)
If normal cardiolipin's acyl chains are normally comprised of linoleic acid (PUFA), and its pathological remodeling occurs when it shifts to a AA or DHA species, then why would more dietary linoleic acid from seed oils be blamed for the pathological remodeling of cardiolipin? Because linoleic acid increases the overall oxidative load of the organism, thus depleting antioxidant factors that would otherwise be available to protect cardiolipin from oxidative damage?
I think the scariest part of this, is how much of these PUFAs are being incorporated into the cells of a foetus if a pregnant woman is consuming a large amount of vegetable oils. It is one thing to be born healthy and gradually accumulate PUFAs in your cells, but if children are being born with them, and are then fed a diet during their childhood high in PUFAs (for example, formula, which is high in soybean oil), could this be the underlying cause of childhood obesity and diabetes?
It might be a lot about veggie oil but the other single greatest change is that people eat a ton more carbs and sugar!
Excellent talk, thank you.
This has some science but in science you are supposed to be attack your own theory and show that it leads to a contradiction. There’s nothing here that shows real harm. When you say low-carb diets are good but not because of the low carb…that’s an indication that science is not number 1 here. “When you go low-carb you reduce your vegetable oil.” I doubt that.
Protection of lipid peroxidation and carbonyl formation in proteins by capsaicin in human erythrocytes subjected to oxidative stress – eat your cayenne!!
