If you missed the previous video on Lp(a), watch Treating High Lp(a) – A Risk Factor for Atherosclerosis. https://youtu.be/dDJVrA0zhB0
So that told me ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Maybe a LOT less theatrics, this is not supposed to be a comedy show, and more of helpful facts and advice! All I understood here was, eat lots of fruit & veg daily & hope for the best. WTH!
Is this how he talks with his wife and children, or when he's buying shoes? What's the reason for this overacted presentation?
YOU MUST BE A RETARDED MAN. YOU KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT NUTRITION. YOU SAID TO EAT FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AND A LOT OF THEM ALL DAY LONG. 58 FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AND A LOT OF THEM ALL DAY LONG, —I WOULD GAIN WEIGHT LIKE CRAZY DUDE. YOU WOULD BE EATING TONS AND TONS OF CARBOHYDRATES AND SUGARS THAT ARE IN FRUITS AND HALF OR MORE OF ALL VEGETABLES. IF YOU ADD ME TO YOUR DIET AND CUT DOWN ON THE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOSE WEIGHT ON A LOW-CARB DIET. NEW CONVENTIONAL DOCTORS ARE INSANE. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM IN THE WORLD. YOU ARE THE CAUSE WHITE PEOPLE ARE SO FAT IN THIS COUNTRY. COULD YOU PUSH A HIGH CARBOHYDRATE LOW-FAT DIET, WHICH IS AGAINST NATURE, AND AGAINST COMMON SENSE. BEFORE THE YEAR 1900, PEOPLE LIKE TONS OF ANIMAL FAT AND SATURATED FATS, YET THERE WAS ZERO HEART ATTACKS. ONLY ABOUT ONE HEART ATTACK PER THOUSAND PEOPLE EXISTED BACK THEN. NOW IT'S ABOUT 1 OUT OF THREE OF HEART DISEASE OR IT MIGHT BE EVEN 40% OR 50% HAVE HEART DISEASE IN THIS MODERN MESSED UP WORLD, WITH ALL ITS PROCESSED FOODS AND GARBAGE AND POLLUTION.
I love this channel!
This video was definitely confusing as Dr. Greger is not real clear on what he is trying to say. This is what I gathered from the video:
How to Lower Lpa with Diet:
Lipoprotein(a) is a genetic factor linked to cardiovascular disease and heart attacks, significantly increasing risk despite low LDL levels.
A whole food plant-based diet, rich in fruits and vegetables, can lower Lpa levels by 16% in just four weeks, highlighting the impact of diet.
Certain foods, like nuts and Indian gooseberries (amla), have shown potential in reducing Lpa, though results vary and some claims require cautious interpretation.
Insights Based on Numbers:
16% Reduction: A whole food plant-based diet can reduce Lpa levels by 16% within four weeks, demonstrating the power of dietary changes.
20% Drop with Amla: Indian gooseberries (amla) can reduce Lpa levels by 20%, potentially lowering them to more optimal levels.
Transfsts in meats???? You gotta be kidding
if trying to lower cholesterol, what are some good Amla to purchase?
All of you with high lpa here, read about high saturated fatty acid diet. It reduces lpa
To summarize , a wholefood plant based diet has been effective at weight loss and lowering Lp(a).
Possibley the most unclear video I have ever watched in my life regarding LP(a)
You had videos on Amla in which you talked about heavy metals. That has stopped me from using it. Please clarify
Guys read about carnivore diet 1st. I don't believe that a plant based diet is the way to go for every other factor such as inflammation, all the other blood work factors, energy,
permanent healthy weight loss, and lower blood sugar. These are all better with carnivore from my experience and research. As far as LipoProtein (a) there are no studies or
antidotal findings that show any diet helps in this area, including plant based, so not sure where his information is coming from. I am doing my own study based on medications
and carnivore, my base line is 89 mg/dl. All my other Lipid panel numbers are excellent once I went on the carnivore diet, for the 1st time in my life. My inflammation is 100% gone, can't even remember where the pain was at that I had for last 20 years. Sugars are the main reason, and plant based would remove that, but would not give me all the other things carnivore does.
Do your own homework and test for yourself, don't believe him, me or anyone else, believe your own results.
I enjoy the doctors lively delivery and sense of humour. Thankyou for your work to help all of us pursue our health through nutrition.
Ive been mostly plant based for almost 2 months now…eaten sardine a few times, less than once a week. All my muscle is gone and Im fatigued. thinking about going back to heavier foods
Studies have shown diet and even exercise have no effect on Lp(a) levels. You lose credibility when you shoe-horn a plant based agenda into a medical condition of growing importance.
I eat dr. Eric Berg's keto diet and my lipoprotein a is below 8.
So a correct title should be "How Not to Lower Lp(a) with Diet" since there was no proven, objective way.
I'm meat based, all- clear CIMT, CAC-zero. My LPa is 31 nmol. I'm 63 years old, no meds
This video delivered nothing in my opinion. Sorry.
My lp(a) has been tested 4 times in the last 15 years and it always falls between 8 and 10. I don’t follow any particular diet. Although I have experimented with KETO off and on for over 40 years. 8 months was longest I stuck with it. At was during that time that my lp(a) was the lowest. But I became severely hypothyroid, so that was the last time I did keto that was 2010.
Lost me at “plant based diet”..
I can't speak about a WFPB diet but in my experience a low carb diet helped to decrease my lp(a) from 104 to 70. Prior to that I tried the Vitamin C/Lysine/Proline protocol and my lp(a) actually increased. I'm currently trying a very low carb (close to Carnivore) diet to and I will retest to see how that affects my results.
