NOOOO!!!
Dang. Had no idea about this.
Tetraethyl Lead
I don't know what regulations they have in Mexico regarding the use of Tetraethyl Lead as a gasoline additive, but one of the major reasons TEL was banned in the US and Europe was because it caused widespread contamination of soil(and thus farmland) with Lead because the exhaust would fumes contained Lead.
Some plants absorb Lead more than others. As already mentioned in this video, washing the chillies would remove surface contamination.
This could be the case in Mexico.
As the sauces are mixed crushed in to a slurry if the factory used lead paint(many commercial properties all over the world did until many countries outlawed it) then a single flake of paint could contaminate an entire batch, or the dust could elevate the lead levels.
To those worried you should be more concerned about lead dust from ammunition and lead paint as they are the major routes of exposure in America.
That's why I'm growing my own habanero peppers.
I grow my own peppers and make sauce. Much tastier than store bought AND I know whats in it.
Pelase all these sh…. is only a way of manipulation! If we want to know whats the reason for these kind of "information " please turn on the Tv and start seeing the documentals on NETFLIX :
1.- ZEITGEIST
2.- food matters
3.- what the helth
ETC!!!
And at the end you will get the real idea .
Now the "big problem is MEXICO and "the wall" tomorrow is going to be other country!
We need to end with all these!! And leave all these manipulation apart
What about non-Mexican Hot Sauce? Like made in the USA, or Canada, the UK, etc? (Not that the "made in xxx" labels are that meaningful, might still get that label even if all the ingredients are from another country)

Well I guess there's a bonus to being a wimp and not liking anything spicy.
Lead in hot sauce?! Arsenic in rice! This is insane. There should be more food regulations
Walter White would have turned in his ground if he knew that his customers were consuming impure drugs…

According to a Google scholar article I read, cannabis can be used to remediate soil due to its association with mycorrhizea. Bitter sweet to read b/c it hyperaccumulates, but there's hope, just as the internet like soil web shares; Dr. Gregor is utilizing the internet for sharing information.
Say it ain't so
I use a LOT of Frank's Red Hot – hope its safe!
don't tell Hot Ones! ))
What about lead in Jewish food? Jewish mothers trying to poison their children with lead infested gefiltefish??
What about pesticide levels in hot sauce. Has there been a study yet? Given the fact that hot peppers are on the list of produce with highest levels of pesticides, I have always wondered about this.
Nilered can make lead sugar
Dang he got my BĂºfalo Sauce. I use to out of my way to buy it. Every new store I went to I'd check to see if they had it. Half a dozen times I made a special trip to a store just to find that sauce. And I even gave it to someone as a gift.
