Also the body will send a signal when it needs a nutrient, I used to crave chocolate when I was iron deficient, When I started taking supplemental iron, my cravings stopped. So I don't agree with these studies. People should learn to listen to their bodies instead of "studies:"

I have to be super careful to not be too mindful. I have a history of eating disorders. If I concentrate too much on the food, I will gradually get disgusted by the very act of eating.
Instead, I concentrate on what I put on the plate, or in the bowl. I know I will probably eat more than I need, but I don't think about what my body is doing to the food between the fork and the toilet. Because it's interesting, but a harmful mindset for me.

In a society of ultra processed food, it's nearly impossible to rely on intuitive eating.
It's hyper palatable, addictive and advertised everywhere!
Cravings can also get mixed. E.g. hunger is often actually thirst. Sweet cravings can often be mineral deficiency or a desire for salt.
If seeing yourself bloated in the mirror doesn't help you stop Pigging Out, maybe you better play this video and try I something new.
This is ….mind blowing!….I'm going to have to watch this a few times to see if I can understand exactly what he is saying here and if in fact its useful or not…..I think we are all wired in different ways and therefore, this might be helpful to some, but not for everyone sadly…..anyway……I have to get back to watching this a 3rd time….I'm hoping I can absorb it better….PEACE!

Ok, so you can eat all the chips, cookies, and ice cream you want, but just chew well and concentrate mindfully on the pleasure of the eating process.
Cognitive defusion comes from ACT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Cognitive Defusion is just one of six parts of ACT. A person needs to learn all 6 for best effect.
