Anyone feeling bad eating a lot of meat is just not getting enough fat. This whole video is bad information. The poor outcomes in high protein group was most likely not due to the protein but the chemicals in ensure or whatever ensure like drink he was speaking about. Thats not even real food. Look up animal based pregnancy.

I wish my mom would stop eating animal flesh. Doing so might help her stop acting like such a f-ing b-h.

This video is appalling! This isn't a fair take on the data at all and is even damaging to people that actually take your video seriously.

with that bodybuilders testosteron drops you are wrong – before competition they do drastic calories and carbs reduction. Misleading to do any assumption about meat causing that drop.

I have been investigating similar behavior of certain food, trying to figure out what causes me increase in stress after meal which results in tendency to eat more to mitigate that stress. I thought that carbs are doing it but that was not really the case. I have discovered that meat is doing it – but first I thought that from food potatoes+pork it's high GI of potatoes what's doing it whereas that's more likely that meat which is doing it. However I have sticked to low GI carbs to mitigate it which somewhat worked as well – but maybe I could drop meat intake instead – i have never tried it as everybody recommends 1.5g/1kg of protein.

There’s a whole lotta mother shaming here. The nutritional advice we got in the 70/80s was what it was as was our mums in the 50/60s. I paid a huge amount of attention and care to my natal diet and raised my kids with close adherence to the Canada food guide. Now I feel like I am being blamed because of what I ate when I was pregnant. When they moved out all of the careful meal planning and nutrition lessons were superseded by drivethrus and high processed box foods.

Eat carbs with animal fat (low protein) for highest testosterone
Like butter, fish oil and stuff with potatoes.

3:23 Funny how you don't mention anything about the rest of the year. Bodybuilders are dieting hard in the months leading up to a competition, which explains drop in T. I can't trust your short-sighted, biased vids anymore!!

Well with the bodybuilders isnt it probably the calorie restriction?

  • @CompostWatcher says:

After I quit animal products, I didn't feel stressed like when I ate meat and consumed dairy. I thought it was the stress hormones in the animals that were suffering through the slaughter process.

I can't speak for the women portions of the video, but at 3:30 he talks of bodybuilders, and wow does he lie out of his teeth with his conclusion!
The fallacious argument that protein causes the drop in testosterone is crazy, and it's super easy to explain why: bodybuilders eat tons of protein ALL THE TIME FOR YEARS. Day in and day out while building and maintaining their muscle mass, they eat tons of protein, yet only right before competition their T goes down? Oh ya, then T goes right back up to normal after competition while they continue to eat tons of meat protein.

So why does T go down? Well the intro page of the report gives you the answer: the bodybuilders cut their bf% from 15% to a crazy <5%. They've cut to an unhealthy (temporary) state of super low bf% (and dehydration) to show off those muscles better. It's this very stressful state that understandably knocks the body way out of whack.
Bodybuilders are in fact very weak during the actual competition, very dehydrated and very carbs deficient. This isn't a strength competition, it's in essence a beauty pageant.

TL:DR this 'doctor' blatantly misrepresents and outright lies about the conclusions of the study he references (at least about bodybuilding).

High protein diets are low in magnesium, that might have something to do with excess stress hormones.

This video made me think of the meat pushers of the 1950s, when my parents were growing up. My grandma was overweight, my mom is overweight, all my brothers and sisters are overweight. I'm the only one who is a normal weight. Like Dr McDougall says, "it's the food!"
