Pls Dr Gundry, speak to those of us who have been forced into menopause by having a misguided hysterectomy. Thats an untouched market, many popular doctors write books on menopause but never speak about those of us who "stupidly" allowed a doctor to talk us into a hysterectomy. I'm 57 and take BHRT. Thank you, I'm enjoying reading Longevity paradox.

I have tremendous respect for Dr. Gundry and his groundbreaking research on the gut. But he could not be more wrong about hormones and this misinformation is not about opinion, it’s measurable and factual. For example, his comments about fat women having high estrogens in the blood is simply not true. I have been measuring post menopausal estrogen levels for more than 2 decades and have never-and I mean never-seen measurable significant blood levels of estrogen in these women. And his comments about treating vaginal atrophy with lubricants is way off and ignores the importance of treating vaginal atrophy ( shrinkage) whether a woman is sexually active or not. His comments about hormones clearly reference data from the WHI which showed the detrimental effects of synthetic equine estrogens ( horse urine) and synthetic progesterone, NOT bio identical hormones.
And pellets being a terrible way to treat hormone deficiency? I suspect Dr Gundry has never done a single pellet insertion, which disqualifies him from judging pellets. I have done many, many thousands of pellet insertions and sure, some doctors are overzealous with dosing. But that doesn’t mean pellets are bad. It means the the doctors overdosing them are bad.

Not fair to scare women away from the healthy aspects of bioidentical hormone replacement. Being an expert in one area of medicine does not make you an expert in others.
Sorry but I grow weary of seeing too many people suffer needlessly and terrorized by well intentioned, but inexperienced doctors denying women’s bodies what they need for health aging.

What about girls who start their period before they are twelve? They seem like they would be in menopause at thirty's. I started at nineteen. Thankfully not in grade school. What's up with that?

My experience with Flax Seed OIL is that it made me feel more "fluffy". You girls know what I mean. More estrogenic. So, it didn't work for me

Thank you for addressing an often over-looked topic, Dr. Gundry. For a deep dive on the subject of menopause management, I strongly recommend Dr. Barbara Taylor's video series on YouTube, Menopause Taylor. She is a retired gynecological surgeon with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things menopause. She packages current, science-based information in funny and easy to understand videos and also wrote a book on the subject. I cannot recommend her enough to any woman going through menopause. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSJItwa6IVPGxUVfTHKbwLg

Always wonderfully helpful information. Unfortunately too late for me. I had never taken birth control pills but I was given hormone replacement therapy when i began having menopausal symptoms (like your wife) and developed a DVT in my left leg that had developed from my ankle into my gut. I was on a heparin drip for two weeks in a hospital ward and then coumadin therapy for 6 months. Initially I was told I might not walk again (eee gads!). I have since had a complete hysterectomy because I started having non-stop urine tract infections and was on continuous antibiotics – the fibroids were not allowing me to void urine completely. My suggestion for a podcast is that I was once told how important making glutathione is and that I should supplement with NAC, alpha lipoic acid, milk thistle, and selenium. I did not do this but I am wondering if I should. I was also told for cysteine I should buy bio-active whey protein from non-denatured protein from non-pasteurized & non-industrially produced milk. As good as I am at finding products on the internet I did not find this whey powder. Any discussion on how to NATURALLY increase glutathione production would be greatly appreciated. Also I hope I can find out on YouTube how to see your newest programs as I love your helpful medically based – and practice base – and research based information. I am making you "my doctor" and working on doing the plant paradox diet as best I can. Thank you so much for reaching out to us who would never have access to you in your practice. And I have pre-ordered your new book since finding you on YouTube while watching endless videos on the keto diet. Reading the Plant Pardox book now – have REALLY cleaned out my pantry, frig and freezer – and amazingly have been able to give up all diet soda – my good to "treat".

I'm 57 and still having periods. Some are spread out every two months…or so then it comes again. I will be so glad when it's totally gone. I'd rather have hot flashes instead of bleeding every month. Seriously I can deal with hot flashes. I hate having to buy tampons, pads, ruining my clothes, and the aches and pains that come with It. Go away already!! My tubes are tied and have been since 1996. My kids are grown and married. I do not need a period anymore!!

So I'm a bit confused. Are you saying it's bad to start menopause later in life? I'm almost 49 with a normal BMI (19). I have regular periods and zero symptoms of either peri or menopause. And if it is bad, why?

Hi Dr Gundry, I am a 50 year old triathlete and I started your diet a few months ago with the goal in mind to lower inflammation from hard physical training. What happened next floored me:
    – my chin pimples disappeared
    – my allergies disappeared
    – my IBS disappeared
    – MY HOT FLASHES DISAPPEARED!
So needless to say I am happy to finally sleep through the night and recuperate well.

Could you please do some more videos on promoting healthy cycles and/or addressing things like PCOS and endometriosis for us younger gals? Thanks Dr G!
