I have to be honest, sometimes I feel like this disease is such a scam.

I am a T1D and was tested by a naturopath to see if my body was making insulin. Turns out it is. But at the same time, I’ve been cramming my body full of insulin, which has been creating insulin resistance.

I’m disappointed that my physicians never tested to see if my body was making insulin in the first place. I wonder if people are experiencing insulin resistance because their bodies are indeed making insulin, while they continue to take external insulin doses.

Thanks Doctor , when I consume cheese high in saturated fat, my blood sugar remains elevated for several hours, even after exercising.

I find exercising or a few hours gardening work does not bring my high blood sugar down but if I walk up and down my stairs until I start sweating I can bring it down 20 or 30 percent…. I normally start sweating after about 20 minutes of this exercise.

I thought that fat doesn’t affect blood sugar levels, why does he say that the high fat on your diet is why glucose is remaining high??

Pizza, from my experience raises my bg for hours due to the crust. White flour is processed as a slow burning carb and so my sugar can get up 350 and stay high for hours even though I exercise and drink water. If I eat only the toppings, my bg stays normal. I don’t think the fat content does anything to me. My cholesterol is normal.

I'm stuck here even on lowest cardb diet. The ONLY thing that brings it down is exercise. I live with chronic pain and stress due to due my husband's death. Walking hurts my feet and knees but I push through just to seenthe meter go down. I wake up with fasting glucose at 284. Insulin caused blurry vision and liver pain. I'm so tired. Almost makes want to say screw it and drink a red bull.

I'm eating a keto diet under 20 carbs a day and walking 10,000 steps a day (5 miles) and my blood sugar is 235-255 all day long. Been a month now. No stress, other than being annoyed that my blood sugar is not going down.

After I got diagnosed recently with type 2 diabetes, I started making my own pizzas using portobello mushrooms as the crust. It takes away tons of carbs not having bread in it and it is still super delicious and does not spike my blood sugar. You can make one or two mini pizzas in a toaster oven or make a bunch in your oven to feed your family or friends. I am half Italian and pizza is my favorite food. This recipe does the trick for me! I even created a video of me making it on my Anchor Moments YouTube channel because it was such a game changer for me! My husband, Jeff, who is not diabetic loves these mushroom pizzas too! So yummy!

I received my blood glucose results today . I’ve been testing my glucose for the past year myself and it’s been in the hundreds fasting for months now. My a1c cane back 5.6 and fasting glucose of 116. The pcp says this is normal but last year it was 5.3 and 106. This is not normal and very high and I wake up dizzy with these results. What do you recommend??

Low blood sugars are even more dangerous than high. A severely low blood sugar can kill you instantly while high blood sugars can take years.
