Lithium is very toxic to the kidneys, especially to renal tubules. Once they are destroyed it takes many months or years, if ever, to recover. Your output of urine can triple or quadruple while on lithium because the tubules help us to reabsorb systemic water and they are dying from the lithium. Never supplement with lithium.

I've been taking lithium orotate for many years in low nutritional level doses. There's so much research that doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves, including being able to slow down the shortening of telomeres.
I have read that lithium helps get vitamin B12 into the cells. I have very high B12 in blood tests but was chronically low energy, so I reasoned it was there but may not be getting utilized so I looked into what might help. My other hypothesis was that it was the cyanocobalamin I used to take that was gumming up the works. Not sure, but I now take Adenosylcobalamin and lithium and feel much better.
I was taking for a while and have forgotten in the midst of other stuff! Good reminder! Thx!
I tried lithium orotate 5 mg daily , off and on and it resulted in obvious weight gain. I changed nothing else in my lifestyle , worked out and ate reasonably well. I had heard about the positive effects of it, but for me it was a trade off I wasn’t willing to make. I have a hard time as it is keeping weight off.
Maybe if I try micro dosing I won’t have the weight gain side effect.
I take lithium orotate 5mg before sleep inconsistently. I will try to make it more consistent for a few months to see any noticeable difference
So what's this about? We're gonna start eating batteries now? Lmao
