1000 mg of vitamin C is a lot??? Whatever.
That is interesting. I wish it works. I know that fertility problems are very common now. But not all of us know what to do next. Or how they can cope with such stuff. So maybe you show us a kind of better future! I think that it is necessary to talk more about male’s infertility. My brother is infertile. and he shared with me that it is quite hard for him to talk about his problem loudly. As I understood he is afraid of some judgment. Moreover, once he was even in a deep depression because he just can’t give his wife all that she wants. Of course, he tried to do everything he could for achieving the main goal. But nothing happened! His wife supported him in every step. That is why one day she asked him to go with her to the fertility clinic. She suggested the modern European Center for Human Reproduction in Kiev. He told me that they met in Ukraine a lot of highly qualified professionals. Also he liked that there were a lot of options and different programs. They chose an all-inclusive program that cost them nearly 30k Euro. He told that even though it is not the cheapest price on the market but there are no hidden costs so they were in safety. And the level of the clinic worth each cent!
Hi Dr Greger, I was wondering if eating 3 yellow bell peppers (rich in antioxidants and 1000mg vitamin C) would improve male fertility if you had had a orchidopexy but were vegan eating a plant-based whole foods diet?
I am a 75 year old white male, whom takes Vitamin-C supplements every day. I take 30 GMs of vitamin-C every day, and have been doing this for the last 30 years.   What are the results ? I do not have any problem with my bowel at all. I think in the last 5 years I had one cold ! My blood work analyzed by my physician tells me that I have great cholesterol. I should also state that I go to the gym 7 days per week for a one hour heavy workout.  Of course I do not smoke nor have ever used narcotics ! Rarely eat meat, and have 2-3 pounds of raw fruits and vegetables every day. Simple easy rules for life. Life style works !
Just curious, isn't a problem to cook peppers in order to preserve vitamin C (that is, as far I know, a thermolabile vitamin)?
"and boom 100% pregnant"…..LOL
do you have anything to say towards the new study linking child height with non dairy drinks? http://news.nationalpost.com/health/children-who-drink-non-dairy-milk-tend-to-be-shorter-than-cows-milk-drinkers-canadian-study
The 1000mg level seems pretty meaningless in relation to food. To determine how many bell peppers are needed to block the absorption one has to actually test bell beppers
ayo where my man The Horny Vegan at?
Hello, everyone! I desperately need your help! I've been eating a whole food plant-based diet for a month and a half and I've been dealing with really low blood pressure recently (110 over 60). I'm a 24-year-old male and I never used to have issues with blood pressure. But having got on a vegan diet, I started to feel dizzy, faint and unable to concentrate throughout the day. I eat a lot of calories for my body weight, I drink a lot of water and I add salt to every meal I have – nothing seems to work, except for coffee. I also take a B-12 supplement daily. Even when I don't have any breakfast and fill up my stomach with plain water – I feel slightly dizzy afterwards. What am I doing wrong?
Get at least half of your carbs from taters.
Ascorbic acid is not Vitamin C. Ascorbic acid represents a part of Vitamin C. The ingredients that confound vitamin C are rutin, bioflavonoids, factor K, factor J, factor P, ascorbinogen and ascorbic acid.
I don't know about the rest of you but if I ate three bell peppers ._. my bowels would not be happy with me… maybe my micro biome of my digestive track just isn't use to consuming that amount of peppers at once.
3 bell peppers a day?
I believe this may be because the gut is trying to protect itself from excessive Vitamin C though? So it possibly blocks out other nutrients? Might be worth it if your lead levels are high but maybe not worth it if your exposure and blood level is low enough.
1000 mg of vitamin C can be found in 1 capsule too!

I was hoping he would mention camu camu which has 240% daily recommendation of vitamin C per teaspoon.
Another ball hit right out of the park.
1000mg of Vitamin C is NOT a lot.
Most of the other animals on the planet make their own C, as man used to many years ago. A 150-pound goat makes upwards of 10,000mg per day.
Vitamin C is water soluble and washes out of the system quickly. So large doses are necessary compared to other substances.
thank god you didnt mention tofu….love u doc!
Fantastic series! Thank you so much for this oh so very current topic series.
